Creating your look that is unique for you:
In designing a space it’s so crucial to see the importance for creating a beautiful atmosphere that speaks to you or your family that envelopes you at the end of the day like a blanket. In this space you are able to de-stress, it’s relaxing and serene, and it’s you, its home! Creating a place that others only like, your sister, your friends, or a showcase your designer pulled together that’s their style not yours. Where are your in the mix, are you loving it? Is the space you? It’s important finding a professional designer or decorator that you connect with, that listens, and understands your likes and dislikes in helping you create an atmosphere of serenity that represents really who you are. This is a place you look forward to coming home at the end of a long day, loving your space! It’s been proven that vacations, atmosphere, our surroundings reduces stress, anxiety, and bringing healing. Why do people take vacations, it’s a place of atmosphere they want to be at. The outdoors for example, looking at nature, water calms our soul. Atmosphere can send healthy endorphins they de-stress us and can bring you a sense of calm.
Developing your atmosphere:
In order to create an atmosphere that speaks, and represents who you are soulfully, then you have to do some soul searching
The best home work you can do for yourself is write down the colors you love, and ask why you love them, and how does it make you feel. Don’t be scared of color, do samples. Try a room and experiment with that. Furnishings pull out of magazines of looks that you are drawn to. As for Art work, I would suggest not looking just for colors that match perfectly with your De’cor, you could be settling. It’s equally important to find art that you’re drawn to. Art can be inspirational; it evokes an emotion when you look at it. This is all part of creating your atmosphere and the mood. This is the art of design, being part of the creating process. Lighting is very important, if not one of the most important aspects in the design process. You want to create balance. This is why I love what I do. It’s learning my client’s taste, mood, personality, their wants, and dislikes. These all are important ingredients to create and design a custom fit home for my clients. It’s really like psychology, getting in their head and creating what they can’t voice. I loved what another designer said one day in talking, it truly is an Art if you get it!
All this said have fun learning and creating that special space that makes you smile on the inside and out. I love sharing with you just so you can develop and feel great with that blanket wrapped with warmth and love. Be adventurous, and bold, be you!!
